Jeffrey Roomset
We have fondly named our new "Jeffrey" set of patterns for the eponymous Victorian printing firm that helped to elevate the common medium of wallpaper to the high level of art. While Jeffrey & Co. had printed for William Morris since 1864, when Metford Warner assumed control in 1871 he actively solicited other great British designers of the era including Walter Crane, Bruce Talbert, Lewis F. Day, and C. F. A. Voysey. Jeffrey & Co thus became internationally recognized as a producer of some of the finest wallpapers in the world. As our homage to that visionary firm, along with the "Jeffrey" name itself, we've incorporated the names of "Metford" Warner and his sons "Albert" and "Horace" to identify the patterns in this collection.
