High Victorian Gothic
Although the term "High Victorian Gothic" actually lent itself to a late Victorian architectural style, its rich and imaginative use of color and decoration influenced interior schemes from the period also. William "Billy" Burges, perhaps the greatest of the nineteenth century British architects and proponent of the Gothic Revival, created fantasy castles with sumptuously decorated interiors inspired by the Middle Ages, until his death in 1881.
Our High Victorian Gothic Roomset draws its inspiration from some of Burges' wonderful brand of medievalism, albeit in our more modest medium.
